Inked from a sketch of an original character by -- Original drawing of hers here:
This was fun digital inking practice! I couldn't help but inject it with some of my own stylistic little bits, though. I was focusing more on practicing making lines with a traditional tablet rather than doing a 1:1 ink-over the original
I wanted to attempt inking something quickly (but effective) using my Intuos 4 Large, mostly because I've never really used it for inking before. Quite surprising, it was a joy to use for this picture. I swear it was almost more comfortable / faster to draw with than my Cintiq 21UX -- or it was more fun for some reason. I can't pinpoint what it was. I think it's a combination of the sheer accuracy of the intuos 4 large (on a 24" monitor) and the smoother, less sticky surface than the Cintiq glass. I'm probably going to do more of these because it's great practice, even just to get better at using the tablet itself!
Nice work!, i realized your style on her face , interesting character design frmo the dancing-cat user, too! I'm happy with my new bamboo tablet, i though OMFG!! when i searched for Cintiq 21UX
