Continuing on with the Jenna concept piece I submitted yesterday, we now have Maia in the same theme.

Maia Project. Main character of SYNTHESIS. Maia likes to believe that she's a lone wolf, that she can handle things on her own. It's never before long that she ends up having to rely on the help of a friend, typically Jace or her younger sister Sonya, though she doesn't like to admit it. After she moves to the city of Aricee, she finds out faster than she'd like that there won't be anyone around as often to catch her falls. Maia is a synthetic living outside of her comfort zone.

Maia can be a small bit of a tomboy. She doesn't like to use makeup. She hates over accessorizing and jewelry. She tends to take steps back from potential romantic situations. Yet if you smile and wave at her, she'll smile and wave back.

Aha...I see.

I have a decent guess at what it means.

Have you read Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell? Part of the story is about a futuristic society in which there are "fabricants" and "purebloods"...it's a great book.

Hmmmm nope, it's not like that :) That part of the book sounds much more like Blade Runner than what Synthesis will be XD
