"Screen tone in Photoshop by using real screentones" tutorial.

Honestly, I never liked the "Photoshop Halftone Filter" way of screen toning because it looks so fake.

So, I came up with my own alternative, Google Image Search! I came up with a way to get real results, real fast.

Included in the ZIP of this tutorial:

- the tutorial image, and about 600+ different screen tone pattern samples free for your use.

- an adobe illustrator lineart of mine that you can use in Photoshop to try this techique.

Sorry, but the filesize and the totrial image are BIGASS. The zip is almost 15 megabytes, the screentones enclosed are large and clear so you can get the most use out of them.

Enjoy!

Edit:

Meh, I know there are a LOT of typos and stuff, I didn't exactly read the sheet over.

If anyone has any further questions or such on this or anything, just give me a note.

Edit2:
OH yes, I forgot to add:
"It's important to LIMIT the number of screentone patterns you use in a single cell because its a general manga rule. If you look at mangas, you'll recognize on average just two, or even one pattern used per cell. This is because real screentones are expensive and artists like preserving the tones they have for future images. If you use too many patterns, it will actually end up looking worse. For the reason that using many would cost a LOT of money in real life, and because it'll generally... look bad. Again, restrict uses to at least 3 shades per cell."
