In the MYST world, I kind of imagined this world full of man-made structures with a very organic, crude, curvy look about them. -- As if they were made by nature but with all sorts of metals and minerals. A linking book pedestal to such an age, I imagined would look something like this. The pedestal appears to be actually embedded into the top of a cliffside. slabs of rock forced up around the base as if it has randomly grown there through some earthquake.
The texture of the paper was done via the usual burning & coffee method -- not on the drawing itself, however. I dirtied a seperate sheet and used photoshop to apply the two images together. I just didnt want to accidentally muck up the drawing. Drawing is Micron 005~05 and Prismacolor Cool Grayscale Markers.
------ Ah, and I guess I've been gone for a while. You know, the whole college thing. I have little work to post here on DA that's outside of my boring academic stuff. I have litterally hundreds of drawings building up in my closet from weeks and weeks of classes. All of it is rather "been there, seen that," so I'm not going to bore you people with them.
This drawing, though, I've completed a while ago and thought it's cool enough to stick up on here.
I'm a rather avid MYST fan, I enjoy this
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
