Photo Collection 2010 Q3 by fox-orian Photo Collection 2010 Q3 by fox-orian
Well, you guys seemed to really like the first collection [link] I posted, so I thought why not make another collection! There were a lot more I wanted to post before, but I couldn't because the first collection was getting big enough as it was. So among some photos I had just taken fresh today, here's a huge second batch of stuff from my private reference collection!

Almost all of these photos were taken with my G11.

The second and third photos from the bottom are clearly from Japan. These were taken by a good friend of mine there. I had asked him to take a few photos for me, since I can't physically go there to do it myself :) [The very last photo with the motorcycle, I took, and is Boston again.]

Also sorry if I tend to take photos of public transportation and transport-related infrastructure more than anything else. It's just far too fascinating to me.

Speaking of that, if you want to learn more about the transportation system of my city, check out the MBTA on Wikipedia: [link]

Any idea where in Japan that is? I'm going next summer:la:

And I totally didn't think there that Boston had a Little Japan or something, no sir.

Thanks for both these ref collections! They're all super inspiring pictures... And idk, for some reason this kind of made me realise you really cán make anything look cool. After all... that picture of the supermarket? Nothing really outstanding about the subject: it's just a supermarket, but it still looks interesting.

damn, now I wish I was more of a photographer, ahaha.

Also I am pleased with how many train-related pictures there are in these.

Wow, really cool shots =D This is something I want to do, though prowling around Jakarta with a camera might not be a good idea for your own security lol.. Not to mention you wouldn't get less crowded spots since people are much like everywhere.. Boston is definitely more quieter.

Which do you prefer? Taking shots of huge metropolitan or smaller cities?

Oh it's not that Boston is quieter, it's a pretty bustling city. I PURPOSELY photograph areas where there's no people. And if there are, I camp at a spot until everyone leaves. My photos look uninhabited, but it's entirely intentional.

I prefer smaller metropolitan areas, as opposed to small cities. Small cities, to me, tend to be small centers surrounded by suburbs. Small cities are centered around car travel, as opposed to metropolitan areas which are massively public. New York is too big of a metropolis to me. I'm not a New York person. However, I'm much more into places like San Francisco, Boston, and Tokyo. Tokyo is actually a pretty small city, however it's metropolitan outreach is what interests me the most. This is unlike suburbs, which tend to be just sprawls of houses and private property.

Camp a spot! No wonder you got the right view..

True, the center of Tokyo is quite small. But if you combine with the neighboring areas, you got yourself a huge city. Talking about public transport, so far I only reckon singapore and hong kong to have good system of transport. Those two cities I have seen with my own eyes, though too bad I didn't have eyes for details like yours to take interesting shots. :)

Hahah Boston has surprisingly fresh air. We have a lot of trees in the city and not a lot of cars, since our highways are under ground and our streets are narrow. We also have minimal industry in the city :D

with the ocean all around us, too, we certainly have cleaner air than most cities XD
