Synthesis - Jenna by fox-orian Synthesis - Jenna by fox-orian
Jenna, a supporting character in Synthesis. Here in her uniform as part of the Aricean light-response military, (mostly doing civil-servant / inner-city-peace-keeping duties.) All Aricee youth are required to go through a brief basic training. Jenna is one of the few who stuck with it after all those years. Her relatively low rank causes her to act a bit tougher than she normally would be.

I spent a bit more time on the uniform drawing, and quickly shaded the casual drawing.

Nice one! Haven't seen a straight-up character design from you for a while :) .

Hmm, I think I will like Jenna's personality. :) I love her uniform~

And if you have the time, do you have any tips for creating a story? I always struggle with writing.

I love your art, it has such a good feeling about it.

I dunno, i kind of liked her old design since It made her easier to differentiate from the others. Now she sort of looks like Maia with longer hair. Maybe it's the similarities in facial structure. IDK you can just ignore me actually...Good job though.

Sorry, it feels awkward to give critique to someone whose better than you, it's one of those unspoken rules at my school.

Actually you shouldn't feel awkward to critique people *better* than you. Everyone has valid observations, (unless like, you're objectively wrong.) I'm no cinematographer, but I can definitely critique sloppy work in a movie :)

I think the design you might be talking about is the old "Jenna Revival" sketch I did in 2009. Hahah I have to admit, that design was during my "OMG MIRROR'S EDGE" craze, and when I had a very, very under-developed style. I did a redesign of Jenna in 2010 (not sure if you remember this one) seen here: [link] which I used as the basis for this drawing.

I'd definitely agree that she looks a bit like Maia hahah (though for the course of the story that may actually make sense.) I'm still working on her, though, not totally satisfied with this YET. I'm still working on how I stylistically draw faces and such, so I'm hoping to work into greater differentiation soon :)

That was going to be my second guess that somewhere in that magnum opus of your's that somewhere down the line Jenna and Maia might be tangentially related.

And trust me...i feel the pain at designing characters facially...that is EVERYONES problem in my character creation class.

Anywho still love the work. Again alot better than anything I could do.

I never saw her! Or... did I just miss her? I don't know, but I like her yet. :D
