Aiptek makes some nice Tablets at a good price as well.

found thier Aiptek HyperPen 12" x 9" USB Tablet with Cordless Pen and Mouse for $150 at bestbuy. I'm going to get it for my birthday in may. :P

heheh its totally worth it. I got mine - a 6x8" platinum Intuos2 for $270 online.
I actually wouldnt advise getting anything larger than a 6x8... A 9x12 is really kinda big and clunky, I tried on once, and anything over a 6x8 actually converts to a computer monitor pretty badly... A 6x8 is pure perfect, I dont think I'd ever get a bigger one -- I've used a 12x12, its near impossible to use it right on a 19" monitor...
